The Quiet Side
The Arrival
Taken from the balcony of our room at the Lodge at Hawks Nest State Park on our 35th Wedding anniversary. My wife and I had spent a wonderful day exploring a waterfall on Laurel Creek and roaming the banks of the Gauley River. After dinner nature put on a light show outside our balcony. A great day!Frame 20x24; Image 12x16; Price $139

Camo

Pirate's Cove at Summersville Lake. When the water in lowered for winter, an eerie landscape emerges--one that I never tire of. This is a digitally textured image of a tree that was cut more than 40 years ago. It's been preserved by being submerged in the cold waters of the Lake for most of the year.

Whippoorwill Icefall

My wife, Phyllis, and I were exploring Whippoorwill for the first time when this image was taken. We had hiked all day and were thrilled by the exotic beauty of the place. But we were tired and about to turn back when we agreed to just hike around the next bend in the cliffs. As we rounded the cliff, we saw this. Wow. It illustrates how much is waiting for you around the next bend.
This photograph appeared on the cover of the January 2008 issue of Wonderful West Virginia.
